The thirty Human Rights are the basic agreements we all follow to ensure a decent life for all.
However, violations of these Human Rights are a fact of our lives. What do we do when we see violations? There is little gained and much lost in blaming others about the situations we observe in life.
The more important question to ask is, “What can I do to improve the situation for myself and those around me?”
May I ask you, if you see the following situations in your daily life, what do you do about it :- A child in your neighbourhood is not getting an education; A lady is physically bruised on her arms and face; A boy seems beaten up and in pain; Someone is shouting about injustice done in a government office; A person is sleeping on the street, as you walk by – what do you do about it?
These are all situations showing something may be wrong. The first thing is to get more data about the situation. Once you have established the situation is non-optimum then you have to decide what to do. We encourage our members to do something when they see Human Rights violations.
If you do nothing, you show agreement with the current situation. Yes, remaining silent or ignoring the situation, merely shows you wish to do nothing; you therefore agree that the situation should continue to exist. Please take action, however small it may be, do something towards improving the situation.
We wish to create a page on our website giving details of what can be done for the victims of the violations of Human Rights. Please provide us with details of NGOs/Authorities to contact in your area, who will support people who have become victims of the violation of Human Rights. We want this information to be made known to others so people can be helped.
We are working for the rights for all. Promote laws that safeguard the rights of all. Be aware of Rules and Regulations that take away your Human Rights. Do not allow their acceptance.
You are welcome to write to us on any issues that concerns you. We like to hear from you.
