In the work we do in Pakistan and UK , I come across people who say, “What is the use of being aware of Human Rights?”

The truth is that our society is made up of agreements. These agreements play a big part in our lives, affecting us in many ways.

We have agreements to be honest or to be dishonest; to work hard or to avoid work; to look after our families or to ignore them; to help the young or to turn a blind eye to our teenagers.

Not too long ago it was a custom to open the door for a lady, or give your seat up for an elderly person or to remove from o”ce corrupt individuals. Times change and old agreements fade away and new ones take their place.

The survival of a community or a  home depends on the agreements followed by individuals of that group. What are the agreements we follow today?

You and I play a part in bringing these new agreements into society.

Improving the standards of these agreements on which we all operate, is the responsibility of every individual. Each one of us has to ensure that we strive towards better self-conduct and set an example for others to follow.

The 30 Human Rights, as given by Universal Declaration of Human Rights, lays down the basic agreements that when followed, make planet earth a HOME for all of its inhabitants.

This creates respect and tolerance for each individual whatever their beliefs, race, colour, education, wealth, appearance or abilities.

You are a vital part of your community. Work with us to raise the standards of agreements on human rights.

There are lots of people we are very proud to have working with us.  Through our joint e!orts we will help many more and raise the standards of our global family.  Thank you for what you do and will continue to do.
