It was a sincere pleasure to have Sir Muhammad Alam Thaheem, Sindh Director Literacy & Non-Formal Education Department, come to the Greenhouse Education Centre on 14th November 2018.

Sir Alam visited the centre after meeting the CEO, Madam Fareeda Abbasi, at the UNICEF Non-Formal Basic Education Conference in October 201. At the UNICEF Conference, Madam Fareeda gave a presentation on her project of providing fast track education to those children who have missed out on Primary education.

Meeting with CEO Fareeda Abbasi at her centre, Sir Alam discussed the overall strategy of the government and other stakeholders in salvaging the lives of youngsters who have been denied education.

The CEO, Madam Fareeda Abbasi, briefed Sir Alam on the progress of the Youth for Human Rights Education (YTHRE) Street-kids Education project. Both Madam Fareeda and Sir Alam agreed on the goal of the project and the need of working on the area of educating unschooled kids.

The meeting was productive, with Sir Alam visiting the classes and speaking with the children. Sir Alam stated his appreciation of the work that is being done to educate the children and said he will support the sincerity of the work in every possible way. He praised the efforts that the Greenhouse Education Centre (YTHRE), is making for the rights of education for unschooled kids.

Madam Fareeda and her team, very much appreciated the Director of Literacy & Non-Formal Basic Education, making the time to visit and spend time with the children in the Centre. His visit boosted the team and made them more determined to continue their work to give the best quality education to the children at the school.
